The war on (some) drugs was -- and still is -- America's longest and most evil war. Like all of the federal government's foolish wars at home and overseas since World War II, I was against it.
Now fentanyl is KILLING far more people than tobacco or alcohol or any other drug in history. Here in Spokane we have dozens of overdoses each day, requiring constant attention by EMTs to resuscitate with Narcan. Several of them die each day.
This is not a failure. Every "War On" increases the target. War on poverty made more poverty. War on drugs made more drugs. War on terrorism made more terrorists. This is the INTENDED purpose, not a regrettable failure
