Fun seeing the reference to Wired. I used to buy it off the newsstand back in the 1990s. My favorite magazine back then.

It was clearly different and new and smart. It was easy to predict it would still be around in 2020. With Entertainment Weekly's birth in 1990, I blew it, saying no would want to read a magazine of movie and music reviews. It's still alive, but digital only and of no relevance or clout. Magazines are a tough business. I've just subscribed to County Highway, the Montana-based bi-monthly edited by Walter Kirn, Taibbi's kinda libertarian pal. It's trying to return to the broadsheet days and calls itself 'a magazine about America that is in the form of a 19th century newspaper.' We'll see if it works.
